I came across this rainbow farfalle (aka bow tie pasta) at my local Home Goods, and I thought it was too pretty to not buy it. The vivid colors and unique shape of this bow tie pasta remind me of butterflies. I wanted the rainbow pasta to be the center of attention, so I kept the ingredient list as short as possible.
This garlic butter pasta recipe is a perfect week night dinner because it's only 3 ingredients, and ready in 20 minutes. Additionally, this super simple recipe is perfect to showcase the beauty of the rainbow farfalle pasta.
Rainbow Farfalle with Garlic and Butter
1 package rainbow farfalle
4 garlic cloves, minced
8 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Basil for garnish
In a large pot of boiling water cook farfalle until al dente. Drain, reserving about 1 cup of pasta water.
In a large skillet brown garlic in butter and olive oil.
Once the garlic is softened, toss it in with the pasta.
Add in salt, pepper, and pasta water until all pasta is dressed.
Garnish with basil leaves. Serve hot.
